본 논문은 “생전예수재生前預修齋에 드러난 문화의 특성과 공능”이라는 논제하에, 먼저 예수재에 함유된 유불도儒佛道에 대해서 간략히 고찰하였고, 다음으로 예수재에 포괄된 불교 신행의 내용에 대해서 진행의 절차를 살펴서 고찰하였다. 끝으로 예수재에 드러난 궁극적 공능은 살아서 모든 횡액을 소멸하고, 궁극에 생천하거나 또는 정토에 왕생한다는 내용을 살펴보았다. 논의된 내용을 다시 정리하자면 다음과 같다.
첫째로 예수재는 특성으로 유불도 삼교에서 신앙하는 대상을 포괄한다는 점이다. 둘째로 예수재는 기존의 수행과 신앙 가운데 불탑신앙과 경전신앙 및 개인의 신앙에서 대중의 신앙을 종합하였다는 점이다. 셋째로 예수재는 인간이 태어나서 죽음에 이르기까지 불교의 모든 사상과 신앙을 섭렵하면서 힐링(healing)과 웰다잉(well-dying)의 공능을 발휘하여 궁극에 정토에 왕생을 지향한다는 점이다.
Under the thesis of “The characteristics and functions of culture revealed in saingjeoneysujai生前預修齋”, this thesis briefly reviews the confucianism, buddhism, Taoism contained in eysujai, and then discusses the contents of Buddhist practices included in eysujai. The procedure was reviewed and reviewed. Lastly, we looked at the contents of the ultimate ability revealed in eysujai, living to annihilate all evil, and ultimately being born in heaven or going to the Pure Land. To recap what has been discussed:
The first characteristic of eysujai is that it encompasses the objects of faith in the Three Buddhist Paths of the Buddha. Second, eysujai is a synthesis of popular beliefs from among the existing practices and beliefs, the Buddhist pagoda, the scriptures, and personal beliefs. Third, the meaning of eysujai is that human beings seek to be reincarnated in the Pure Land by exerting the functions of healing and well-dying while learning all Buddhist thoughts and beliefs from birth to death.
