This dissertation aims to examine the political meaning of Choi Seung-ro's Buddhist criticism in connection with the royal enjoyment of Buddhism through 『Goryeo history』. Discussions on the anti-Buddhism along with the development process of Confucianism extend from the Goryeo to the Joseon Dynasty. Therefore, the discussion on the policy of pro-Confucianism and anti-Buddhism strengthened at the Joseon Dynasty can be found in the Goryeo society. In this regard, Choi Seung-ro's Buddhist criticism is the process of confirming the main points of pro-Confucianism and anti-Buddhism with the development of Neo-Confucianism.,And this is an opportunity to examine the limitations of the dichotomous logic, knowledge, and cultural system of value in the form of orthodoxy and heresy. Therefore, the study of Choi Seung-ro's Buddhist criticism through Goryeo history is a verification process of the fact that correctly understands and interprets the perception of Buddhist culture at the time. This is also a process of revealing the purpose of Choi Seung-ro's Buddhist criticism without prejudice.
